A Few of My Favorite Blogs from the Past

I hope that you are enjoying your summer. As I am in the homestretch of completing my new pricing book (final copy due August 10), I thought I’d highlight a few of my favorite blogs from the past six months.
One key to surviving (and possibly thriving) in a recession is to capitalize on the trading up/trading down change in consumer behavior. In this May 12 blog, I recommended that companies that are benefiting from increased demand (from consumers who are trading down) consider offering a premium product - specifically suggesting that McDonald’s do so. Sure enough, on July 1, McDonald’s announced that it would be selling $4 premium Angus burgers nationwide. If only I were this prescient in the stock market!
I received the most email ever on this blog from people who disagreed with my point of view. I still maintain that the metric to measure the success of a pricing initiative is simply “am I making more money?”
And finally, I am pleased with the music and e-book pieces that were published in The Wrap.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I’ll be back next week with new material.
